Description
Here's a piece I built in Second Life to fit with Tinkerer Starbuck's storyline.It's supposed to be a reactor which generates electricity for a large number of power sources by means of extracting magical energy from one or two sources. (One being passive absorption of residual energy in the atmosphere, the other being a direct source contained within the sample chamber or fed into it by a unicorn or alicorn).
This energy is then collected in a condensation chamber and concentrated into a thermal source and used to evaporate a supply of water to generate steam, which will then be pumped through the house to power various steam powered contraptions.
According to Starbuck's storyline, the technology is actually that of his home time in the far future, however being stranded in the past he has been forced to try rebuild one out of what is available on hand, thus adapting it into a steam based variant.
The samble chamber contains "Aether Crystals" which are prominant sources of magical energy found in the Roanoak and Harmony Lost fanons.

Trotsdale is doing well I imagine, however I have since left the union and I've closed down my two pony sims for a few reasons. Pony in general is doing alright, I mean there's always going to be some issues going on but pony will always pony

It was actually easier than expected xD
The hardest part was probably just coding the particle effects for some parts of it really, because I kept giving the particles too much life and the effect would burst through the shell of the condensation chamber.
I like how it came out though, but I need to do more work on it yet I think.
I can see room for improvement so I'll do that and update the deviation I think hehe xD

Hehe I use a customisable starting form and mod it from there to create starbuck, the brony community is actually very big over on Second Life and there are many rainbow dashes running around I can tell you that now xD
I just happen to have made my OC using it xD
I'll see if I can find find a friend who's made a rainbow dash and send you an image of it if you like

You forgot to mention - "It is completely safe!" (some minor mane-loss and coat thinning is completely normal and is in no way related to the operation of this apparatus)

The annoying thing is I had to cut like a third of the full build off, along with a lot of it's existing pipes to get it to fit in where I wanted it.
I built this thing ages ago, back last year I believe actually xD
The plan is to redo the pipes on it, get some better mechanical flow going on, put in some venting systems and have it feed into an intake nozzle on the wall before feeding into the house.
I'll update the picture once I've done that
