yea, i completely agree.. i think he's one of my favorites too... unlike the other games... i think this one had some of the most original plotline/developements ever, without any extra features and without really needing to try :]
everything, from the stealing of the pokemon, to the bug catching contest... and day and night... i thijk gold and silver were my favorites, they just gave me a warm feeling :'}

Thanks! I think the GSC characters are underated because of their lack of appearances in the anime. So, since Silver is the only one that didn't actually get show time, I assume that's why he's the elast popular. XD
