I have participated in Tagl's contest several times (I never win, lol), I like doing it because I can see my own improvement through drawing someone else's character, and because Ceci is a coloring challenge every time.

True. But Ceci is so detailed and all the tones of purple/pink are ridiculous lol I recently was forced into traditional media cuz my computer doesnt wanna open gimp for some reason so I feel like Im not used to traditional enough to try, but I might give it a shot since I have a couple days off

I'm more of a traditional artist most of the time, I rarely do digital art I enjoy traditional a lot because sometimes I get tired of watching the computer screen so much. 

But, if you want something to work digitally while you fix Gimp... you could download other free programs... they don't have all of the features Gimp has but they are cool. Try Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, or Sketchbook Designer... they are both for free I use both of them a lot.

well I actually downloaded SAI as well but that stopped working as well so there must be something wrong with the computer :/
