With work being a full-on stress-fest and a couple of Christmas projects needing completion, I'm still taking time for fun projects when I can. As my upcoming birthday will be a Transformers fest of goodies, the film is really stuck in my head at present so another project with everyone's favourite conniving Decepticon - Starscream.
Following on from last week's 'Such Heroic Nonsense', I wanted to do a nice dynamic piece from the shuttle assault that was in the right frame that I can print it on a mug as a wraparound image. This one worked out rather well
Done with polychromos pencils and built up in layers, utilising my pressure application and layering techniques, the picture consists of 23 colours.
Starscreams's head was done with scarlet red, black, cold grey 5, warm grey 3 and warm grey 5.
His body was done with white, light chrome, terracotta, black, deep red, cold grey 4, cold grey 6 and warm grey 1.
His arms were done with white, light phthalo blue, dark phthalo blue, black, cold grey 4 and warm grey 1.
Megatron, in pistol mode, was done with white, magenta, black, cold grey 2 and warm grey 4.
The blast effects were done with white, scarlet red, light magenta, light flesh, light red-violet and magenta.
The Autobot shuttle interior was done with white, light yellow ochre, terracotta, burnt ochre, Venetian red, black, cold grey 2, warm grey 5 and burnt siena.
The space backdrop was done with black.

Completion time: 6 hours, 43 minutes
