Seeing the trailer and reading the plot movie. I bet it was.
However the theme itself is still frightning

I don't want to watch the Exorcist, looks very scary

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StarfireArizona In reply to Halowing [2014-06-05 12:41:46 +0000 UTC]

Yes it is very scary.....one of the first of its kind as well.  I just feel so bad for the actress Linda Blair that played the young main character.  She was so typecast that she never really got any other work because of this role.  Very sad.....

Halowing In reply to StarfireArizona [2014-06-07 09:09:19 +0000 UTC]

Seeing some chips of the film a while back, the make-up and effects are very good and even ground-breaking then using CG like today.
And different ways to save a child's life is very high.
Oh really?? oh wow I remember a critic praise her for her great and scary role.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StarfireArizona In reply to Halowing [2014-06-07 12:49:24 +0000 UTC]

She certainly got praised but it followed her through life.  Don't know if you saw the episode of Supernatural that she was in......at the end Dean HAD to say"for some reason I have a craving for pea soup".  They COULD have left that out!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Halowing In reply to StarfireArizona [2014-06-26 23:00:52 +0000 UTC]

Wait she was in Supernatural?? I didn't know that!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StarfireArizona In reply to Halowing [2014-06-27 12:50:28 +0000 UTC]

Yes Linda played a sheriff who was involved with another cop on the force and he was either a demon or monster.  Of course the boys killed it.  But then like I said they had to have Dean make reference to pea soup.  That was disappointing...

Halowing In reply to StarfireArizona [2014-07-13 04:10:34 +0000 UTC]

OH I REMEMBER!!
Dean was arrested by the murder of the shapeshifter who killed the women from either season 1 or 2.
She freed them and lied to the other police about what happen!!
I had to do a little reseach a bit then it hit me.
That was her?!?!  wow

StarfireArizona In reply to Halowing [2014-07-13 13:14:31 +0000 UTC]

Yup   I really like her.  I have such a 6th sense about people and intensely read body language, even those I have never met....and I know I would really like her in person.  To give you an idea, my daughter and I watched a film one night with Christian Bale.  Even though he was 'acting' the role, there are parts of people that they can't hide.  Just from his body language and expressions I could tell that Christian had sisters, and I told my daughter this.  I told her that I can tell that all his sisters were older, and he had at least 2 but not more than 4.  We looked him up on www.us.imdb.com , and sure enough he was the youngest with 3 older sisters.  My daughter looked at me and said "Mom you are WEIRD"!!  I could just tell  lol

Halowing In reply to StarfireArizona [2014-07-17 09:50:35 +0000 UTC]

Are you a detective?? Because that can be a very good trait~
It would be good for stranger danger or meeting up with someone talking them for a bit and seeing what they're doing and it gives warning signs.
I'm a huge fan of detectives and I find that a good way to read people.

StarfireArizona In reply to Halowing [2014-07-17 12:33:55 +0000 UTC]

I just pay strict attention to body language and facial expressions.  I can tell more about a person in 30 seconds than most people can see in a day.  And I know pretty much immediately if I don't like someone.  I have rarely been wrong....

Halowing In reply to StarfireArizona [2014-07-19 02:13:09 +0000 UTC]

I wish I have that.
So If I know that person is bad then I won't go near that person.
I know I'm a nice person just have thous random moments.

StarfireArizona In reply to Halowing [2014-07-19 13:02:20 +0000 UTC]

Why thank you Ranka    As I just mentioned to a friend this is about as dark as I can get......not into gore and macabre.  Just love a scene you might see in a supernatural horror film  lol

pjenz [2014-05-24 21:11:13 +0000 UTC]

awesome, dont get much darker than that lol, it is a fantastic piece, great mood and atmosphere

StarfireArizona In reply to pjenz [2014-05-24 22:08:51 +0000 UTC]

Thank you m'lady

No I don't think I can get much darker.....I don't hide THAT far from the light  lol    It is suggestive but not macabre.....a style where it's pretty obvious but not blatant   Would you guess I love horror movies??  Not Friday the 13th horror, but Poltergeist horror    Don't know if I already asked you this, but did you ever see the recent horror film "The Conjuring".  It is a true story about 1 of 3 haunted houses within a mile of where we used to live in Burrrillville RI.  I saw proof of one haunting myself in the one closest to us.....

pjenz In reply to StarfireArizona [2014-05-24 22:10:54 +0000 UTC]

I think I have heard of it.  I am the total opposite, not into horror movies, well the Poltergeist I would not exactly call horror, not like Salem's Lot or Halloween, both of which til this day I cannot watch lol

StarfireArizona In reply to pjenz [2014-05-24 22:24:49 +0000 UTC]

I saw the original Halloween in the 70's with Jamie Lee Curtis   I don't like the chop 'em up type films....but supernatural horror.  Since I have had so many encounters with 'the other side', I can watch them without biting my nails  LOL

The house in Conjuring was right next door to my daughter's best friend....and was notorious for being haunted.  I didn't know about it until I read about this film.  But the other 2 I knew about.  One right up the street was where an elderly 85 year old woman passed away with no family to will the house to.  It went up for auction and the public could come and check it out.  We went in and there was NO indoor plumbing except for a large sink in the kitchen corner with only cold water.  There was a calender in an upstairs bedroom opened to June 1935.  I told Rick when we were in there that this woman was not going to leave this house willingly.  I am sure she lived there since birth.  We moved out of town shortly after the house sold so we didn't hear anything about a haunting....but I saw for myself that she was still there.
