Description You can't even tell that that's Kaito haha XD The prompt I used was "weak" but it's kind of loose here haha

Kaito/Mizael is a fairly new ship of mine.  I was considering it for a while but I didn't really fall until I read my friend's fic about them (which you should all totally go read right here: archiveofourown.org/works/5766…

Honestly, I really should have shipped it from the moment they met.  There's this intense energy about them whenever they meet, this spark and crackle between them that's so fascinating.

Unlike the other Barians, I don't sense any malice at all from Mizael.  There's no bloodlust in him, only a desire to push his own limits, a competitive streak much like a rival more than an antagonist.  There's no hate in him, no anger, not even any dislike.  He legitimately respects Kaito from the moment they meet and treats him like an equal, someone to test himself again.  And I feel like it's the same for Kaito.  Mizael represents a goal to him, represents some of the same values and strengths that he himself puts faith in.

They just feel like they're on the same wavelength, from the very beginning.  There isn't any malice or hatred, or even any jealousy on either of their parts for their connection with their dragons.  I never felt like they were really trying to out-do each other, it was more like...some part of them was just trying to reach each other, and pull each other to the same levels.  They competed, sure, but I never felt like they were actually trying to end each other, or become better than the other.  They both just legitimately respected each other, and they wanted to reach new heights through their interactions with them, not to be better, but to better themselves.

I don't know if I'm explaining this very well, but I just...really like how easily they seem to understand each other.  Even when they're on opposite sides, I never felt like they hated or wanted to hurt each other.  They were just curious about the other, and even at the very end, they still wanted to know more about each other.  Even at the end, there was nothing but immense respect.  That's just something that I can support with every fiber of my being.
