Tactical FrigateKurosawa Class
An outgrowth of the Ares Class Cruiser project, the Kurosawa Class formed the backbone of Starfleet's border patrol forces in the period immediately after the Four Years War.
Fast, maneuverable and well armed, they nevertheless had a relatively small crew complement for a ship their size. Even after newer designs began entering the fleet, the Kurosawa Class continued to provide important service deterring pirates and smugglers operating at the edges of Federation space.
