AAARRGGGHHH MY PAINTING IS ALOT MORE YELLOW AND NOT SO GREEEEEENNN!!!!!!! hmmphI painted this to give to my grandfather for his birthday but he ended up canceling on us so we couldn't go see him...I dunno if or when I'll ever see him again, I miss him so much.
That is supposed to be a river but tell me does it look like a river or a path to you? Both of my parents thought it looked like a path but my sisters say they see a river.
My first ever painting of scenery, the only ever nature scene I've done before is a beach with a bottle and that painting was old and got torn apart a while ago from being left out on the floor (
*sniff sniff*)Acryclics on...whatever acrylic paper my mom got for me, nothing fancy.
Interesting fact, I didn't use any white when making this painting, and I used my finger alot for blending on the trees. XD took me about a day to complete. critiques and comments are welcome!

I thought it was a path, I think it was because of the way it winds around. This is the best painting of yours I've seen so far, it's beautiful. The colours are fantastic

I couldn't give it to me grandad in the end cuz he canceled on us. I see your point, I shoulda tried to be a little more creative, I didn't go outta my way cuz I hadn't a reference. I should added more attention to the top of the trees but I decided to add that at the last minute. *shrug* i'll remember all that next time I paint tho. THANKS!

I love the look of the bushes!! I think it looks like a path personally, cuz of both the color and the angle looks to steep for a river.

This is really beautiful :3 The soft brush marks on the bushes have a lovely feel to them, and there is so much depth to every part, not just in the perspective overall but in each individual element of the painting. The colour choice is fantastic.
I did think it was a path at first, but that doesn't detract from the painting at all... I think it actually adds to it as you feel drawn along "the path" as if you could enter this almost mystical scene.
The reason why it looks more pathlike is that the ripples on the waters surface don't flow with the direction the water would be going in - along the course of the river, not always from side to side as you have them. Maybe the inclusion of something breaking the water's surface would also add to this, with the ripples flowing around it. I would still say though, it doesn't need changing, it's beautiful as it is! Just a few things to think about if you do something like this again :3

Well I didn't have a reference for the water, you should seen it when I first started

I first thought it was a path when i saw the thumb of the deviation in my inbox. But when I look at the large version carefully, I can see that those tree reflections in the water really look more like reflections than shadows - so it does look like a river to me. The fact that the reflection is a bit distorted by the waves makes things clear lol. I definitely love the colors! It looks like a nice peaceful sunset to me. And now I can call you a liar for telling me that you're bad at drawing scenery lol
