This image is very well done...my only thought and it is minor, is to have the horizontal horizon a tad lower - maybe below the neck line or above the head...it does not take away from the this striking image...

yeah I see what you mean - I had other shots with it a tiny bit lower but this was the best shot of the model so I chose this one instead plus I do have a tendancy and a preferance for doing even the background landscapes in rule of thirds so they tend to fall roughly in line with the eyes or chest

thankyou for the feedback! ^_^

I can understand your thought process here. What I would like you to consider as possibly and expansion of your artistic composition is to place your subject within your frame using the rule of thirds and sixes and then work in your backgrounds to support that main focus of the image. Putting a horizontal through the main focus of the image is a distraction that can be avoided. Understand that his is not a rule but a guideline which can either be considered, used or not used. It is up to you as the artist. I live by all rules are made to be broken, so long as they support what I am creating.

Does this make sense to you?

I understand totally, I do have an over-reliance to stick to formulaic composition and I do try and break that habit where possible. I think it's because it was ingrained into me by my first mentor when I'd only just started so it's something that's really central to how I work.

I was also trying to remember what limitations the situation gave me and my thought processes at the time and I remembered I was trying to keep the track marks in shot, but also keep the sky in shot and I couldn't get more height either

But I will definately try to keep these comments in mind on my next shoot - maybe you'll get to see a difference in those shots Thankyou!
