Description Just playing around with some photos Henry's taken over the years. The picture of me is from my freshman year of college. Name the bird and win a prize.

*Edit - just caught a small mistake in my image layering, now it's fixed.

*Second edit - now it has a new background. Anyone see anymore tweaking that needs to be done?

Kinda short for a harpy arentcha?

The piece looks great except, the background, if the sun was setting, wont the image's lighting be, well, a little more orange?

reminiscent of the work you would see on the covers of the classic Sandman series...Excellent work...I have a suggestion though...perhaps an earth-tone or a very light brown to match the flesh tone to the owl a bit more so that your skin doesn't stand out too prominently...

Wow, interesting, very smooth transitions (though, the body proportions kinda look a tad off... maybe its just seeing bird to body thats puzzling ) still, nice job! ^.=.^

I also think this is neat. I also agree with chdwk about the brightness of the skin and torso. The background otherwise, was a good choice I think. nice placement of those branches 'around' her head.

I almost want to see hawker's face. Not only curious about the type of person who'd keep a harpy like a pet, but she looks like she's looking at him 'off camera'.

coolness.

Oi.. that was a big skin change. It may just be my monitor, but now everything above the corset looks like a really bright painting, while the rest looks like a mid-value photo. (in short, the skin is blinding and the rest looks normal)

I like how realistic it looks; however, the only thing that prevents it from looking "real" is that it looks like the shoulders and upper torso are way to big to make flight possible. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if that would be possible for you to correct. The background and owl body look fantastic, as does the perch it is on. The only thing you may want to adjust is the lighting on the upper torso and face. Judging by the shades of color in the background, it looks like the sun is either rising or setting behind the harpy. There is too much light on the face and body if that is the case. The only way I know you could possibly fix that is to darken the skin area and add some sheen to the hair. Whether or not that is possible in a photo editor, I do not know. I do like it. It is an interesting piece.

Actually, the owl's head that I edited out was much larger than my head and shoulders combined.

very nice piece-as a photographic work it apears very surreal and even disturbing...much more so than if it had been a drawing or painting.it's that element of realism in the juxtaposition that pushes it over the edge.

Yeah, it's a composite of four pictures. I got a lot of good tips from Henry, who is rapidly becoming the Photoshop master.

I really like it. You did a really good job of eliminating seams, and the colors mesh well.

Very cool! This is a great idea and executed well. It looks like there are still a few things to tweek to make all the elements really mesh and feel like they are in one environment, like maybe deepening a few shadows or making the skin more pale.

I really like this one.... the background is so pretty! And you and the owl flow together quite well. Also, the negative space between the branches is really eye-catching. Something about the coloring of the face doesn't quite match up with the chest coloration, though.... or maybe it's that the face is surrounded by the muted sky colors, and the chest with the dark corset and the white of the wings.
