I think this looks great. And I bet it is hard to do. I have never messed with black and white in Photoshop. There has never been a time where it's been appropriate or even when the thought has come to mind. You did a good job on this. I hope you make more in black and white.

I like gray scale 
If you dont like it, you could, urrmm, try upping the contrast, or fiddling the white balance or levels on the overall thing
