You know...I grumble about Canadian Winters....but I have to admit, the beauty can really be breathtaking.
I hear they live-stream the Aurora Borealis on-line now.
BTW we do get some Northern Lights, here in Keswick, but nothing near as spectacular as this.

This country is beautiful, I just drove from Vancouver island to Yelloknife to watch the Northern lights and make this shot and got to see all AB, BC and part of the NWT.

staroflife51 In reply to schon [2010-09-28 04:39:37 +0000 UTC]

Hey thank you very much.

I used a Nikon D3000, f 3.5, exposure time 60 seconds, vivid white balance. A 18-55 mm lens at 18 mm.

I was told that Yellowknife is one of the best places to see the Northern Lights in the whole world.

Absolutely gorgeous. My life long dream is to see the Northern Lights and I'm glad that it can be captured on camera so I can at least see it on my computer screen.
Fantastic shot. (:

You should drive and watch them by yourself. I drove for 3 days, 12 hours dally to get there from Vancouver and believe me, it completely worth the drive, it's incredible how big and how beautiful this country is.

Yeah, my family might actually go up North to see them. It would be wonderful if we did.
