A few years ago, a sorcerer fell in love with a peasant girl. When she rejected him, he cursed her, giving her hawk's wings. Thaleia has lived with this curse since then. Although she's adapted well, she'd still do anything to be rid of her curse.

I had a weird dream and I had to make it into a character design. Usually, a person with wings would be considered anything but cursed, but they can not be used to fly, and they take the place of normal human arms.

I had a vivid image of her with light blonde hair and brown hawk wings (the colors of which I've pretty much butchered in this concept piece... I need to use a reference next time. The wings I had in mind were those of perhaps a red-tailed hawk? [link] Yes, that's it exactly.)
