ClassesDay 1 (Friday; Partly Cloudy)
Vet Check – Optional image worth extra points
Upon arrival, handlers will take their animals to the warm-up arena (in the public sector) to be inspected by our on-site veterinarian.
Liberty – Animals of all ages and genders allowed; Foals must be weaned.
This competition will be held in the afternoon, in the indoor arena (public sector). If shown, handlers must wear formal riding attire (white shirt, coat, breeches, boots, optional hat). Whip or shakers optional. Up to two handlers are allowed in the arena with each entry. Body paint/ribbons allowed on animal. Must be set to music.
Free jumping – Animals 3 years and older, any gender allowed.
Held in the indoor arena (public sector) in the evening. Background will show the mahogany wood paneling of the arena walls. Jumps can be adjusted according to the animal’s skill level. Bar colors are red with white stripes. Body paint/ribbons allowed on animal. Handler not required.
Vaulting – Animals 3 years and older, mares and geldings only.
Held in the indoor arena (public sector) at night. There will be a ring for the horse to lunge in, comprised of small stone markers with small flames on the top. A spotlight will shine on the ring to draw all attention to the competitor. Remember that this event is fire or heat themed, so choose a costume accordingly.
Day 2 (Saturday; Sunny)
Show Jumping – Animals 3 years and older, any gender.
Held in the Showjumping arena (private sector), in the morning. The ground of the arena is dirt. Bars for each jump will be red and white. Horses and riders must have proper gear.
Cross Country – Animals 3 years and older, any gender.
Held on the Cross Country course (private sector), in the afternoon. The course is set on a cleared stretch of land between the trees that crosses a stream at three points. Each crossing gets a bit wider as you go. Horses and riders must have proper gear.
Dressage – Animals 3 years and older, any gender.
Held in the Dressage arena (private sector), in the evening. The ground of the arena is dirt. Arena markers are made of stone with the letters carved on. There are small flames on the tops of each. The arena will be lit, but the flames will still stand out. Full Dressage tack is required for the animal, and riders must wear proper Dressage attire. Must be set to music.
Day 3 (Sunday; Overcast)
Western Pleasure – Animals 3 years and older, any gender.
Held in the indoor arena (public sector), in the morning. Animals must have proper gear. Riders are required to have pressed button-up shirts and blue jeans, western hats, and boots. Shirts and accessories may have some “sparkle” in true cowgirl fashion.

Setting
Public Sect (North of Private)
Private Sect
The setting of each event is detailed, but I suppose I should go more in-depth about the grounds themselves. Currently we have two different sectors: Public and Private. The Public sector is for guests attending competitions. We have a dining hall, arenas, stables and pastures, and living quarters available. On the public sector are more arenas, round pens, and a vet and farrier. Guests are sometimes invited to compete in events held on the private sector. The owner and his family live in this sector with their animals.
Starr Mountain Estate is located in the New York countryside. This event is taking place in the summer; you’ll find the weather detailed on each day of the event. We’re in a forested area complete with wildlife.
