There wasn't much time for Nikolo to gather his things; he did not have time to get lost looking at this crude childhood drawing of his. And yet.. Holding the crumpled parchment in his hands, he couldn't help but pause as a blush rose to his cheeks. Rodrigue had mentioned that Nikolo could marry Felix, rather than fake his own death but... No, Shez was right. A chance to wander beyond Faerghus while also ensuring his country wouldn't be plunged into civil war was the right call. Marrying Felix wouldn't placate those who would seek to use Nikolo as a prop to base their insurrections on. "Nikolo" would be dead soon, and "Normund" would set off from the palace with a few of the "late prince's" belongings. Nothing identifiable, of course. But... Running his thumbs over the clumsy art, Nikolo felt his heart weaken.
He shoved the drawing into his pack hastily.
There was no reason for "Normund" to have a childhood drawing of "Nikolo's" but... well, if he didn't take it with him, there was too high a chance of Rodrigue coming across it. And that thought was far more terrifying than anyone else seeing it an asking questions of "Normund."

Today is a bad art day for me, so I decided to use today's prompt as an excuse to make something bad on purpose. Behold: a drawing my Fire Emblem character drew as a child of his childhood puppy-dog crush, Rodrigue. I imagine that Felix has probably seen the drawing on accident, but intentionally keeps quiet about it because thinking about him makes him feel weird.
