Description The main hero of this picture is Absinthe, my basilisk OC
Long story short, he's made a deal with toad army and claimed himself to be their king And i've given him a birch stump as a throne
And in the upper left corner is Emma ^^ She's also a toad, but due to her magical practices she's got a chimerical appearence like this ^^ She's very loyal to Absinthe
And though Absinthe is basilisk of many talents, he can't create green flames, i've drawn it like that just to keep color scheme of the picture And in the flame you can see Corona Borealis, which Absinthe wants to get
By the way, my other basilisk Dandelion is in this gang too But i'll draw him at another picture, maybe together with toad orchestra

Yay, i'm so intrigued already I bet you have an awesome idea

Well, my basilisks have two kinds of flame. They can breathe flame due to the hydrogen in their lungs. And they can make a magical flame just by the look of the eyes. It's not even a literally fire, but a highly concentrated energy looking like flaming. It can actually start a fire on something just like a lens does. But it can also have other magical actions according to the skills the basilisk has. And here green flame is one of those magical flames

Спасибо большое *^_^* Очень рада, что жабки с королем тебе понравились Рисовала это и представилось, как Полынь по речке на пеньке катается (там действия происходят во время наводнения) Так что теперь он наверное точно будет на собрания торжественно на пеньке вплывать Он так любит почудачить

OOOh what a charming Basilisk he is

and I can understand why he has toads- in some legends, they say when a chicken egg is hatched by a toad, a basilisk is born (or when a rooster lays the egg)

Yes, there are so many incredible stories about how basilisks are born Though, in my world they are evolved intelligent plants and hatch from the fruits of fern flowers (i've mentioned about that here: [link] ) But nobody knows about that, even basilisks themselves, that's why there are so many different legends about them

xD A toad army? hahah that's awesome. Out of pure curiosity; what's the story about, or I suppose more specifically, what's the story behind the toads? I didn't see anything on your page and don't commonly across basilisk or toads.

This picture is illustration for my new original story which is yet in the progress ^^ So, this is my first submission concerning toads
In my story warriors-toads are strong and fast creatures, very skilled with swords and spears, who can also transform into stones. Though i've put them on the background here, they are actually quite big, the size of a jeep But there are many kinds of smaller and more peaceful toads too
