I don't consider it art theft because you're being upfront and honest about it, you aren't claiming my art as your work, and you haven't posted it anywhere but a private place. However, other artists may not have the same feelings that I do so I would be careful of such things in the future, making sure you ask their permission beforehand.

When I want to practice coloring, I find pages that people have scanned from Disney coloring books or free lineart here on dA and experiment with different ways of coloring, tools, layer types, etc. If you want to keep the outlines, just copy the page and paste it on top of the other. Set the pasted layer to "Multiply" and then create a new layer between the two coloring page layers. That way you can color the pages even if they're JPGs.

I usually use Sai these days for everything and rarely use Photoshop for anything other than special effects or text. I think that I used the "Oil Water" brush for the lines and a combination of the "Water" and "Acrylic" brushes for the colors and shading. I probably no longer have them on default settings because of my tendency to fiddle around with stuff, so I'll make a screencap of my settings and post it for you so you can duplicate them.

As for drawing like me, I take a lot of inspiration from Final Fantasy/semi-realism, *sakimichan , Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Disney (usually older Disney like Peter Pan, The Rescuers, The Jungle Book, etc and then The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, and Aladdin for more contemporary stuff), 80's cartoons and designs (like Lady Lovely Locks, Rose Petal Place, Rainbow Brite, etc), anime (like Sailor Moon and anything by CLAMP and KyoAni), and `meago . It's a hodge-podge of things really and I'm still settling into what really fits me as a style. However, I think I'm pretty close to figuring out what I really want and what I'm comfortable with.

Also I can't find Acrylic and oil water wont work correctly for me. I'm sorry if I'm asking to much like the tutorials but may I have some pictures.

It's not a big deal at all.

I uploaded a picture that screencapped my settings for the brushes that I use and put in the description what I use them for. Even if you can't find the Acrylic brush, you should be able to make a custom brush that just copies the settings that I have. Here's the link to the screencap: [link]

I just hope that I'm good a good mentor as my methods are always half experimentation and fiddling while using what I've learned in the past from sheer chance or from the masses of tutorials that I've browsed over the years. Thanks! The design going to be a little different for the rest of the story than what it is at the beginning, which is what this is, but there are going to be a lot of changes in store for Rani as she starts her journey.
