The story of the twins begins some time before their birth. It firstly begins with two warrens of electric rabbits. One of Plusle and another of Minun, who were warring with one another. Long story short, there was a Romeo and Juliet love story between a Plusle from one warren and a Minun from the other. It didn't end up well for the lovers, but their union produced an egg covered in the cheek-markings of both parents. The two warrens were united in their grief, but it was too late for the egg, which had been abandoned by Lake Acuity in the process of the feud.

A few months previous, a middle-aged Rattata Fusion named Murdoch had made a secret wish in the presence of Jirachi, a Pokemon who was known to have the capability to grant wishes. That wish? The chance to become a mother despite her body being unable to produce offspring. Murdoch had lost the ability to reproduce during the process that had made her into a Smeargle Fusion.

Back to the more recent past. A strange Mew named Rad was flying around Lake Acuity. Why? For the LULZ, of course! Anyways, Rad happened upon the little egg and decided they might as well pick it up. Unfortunately, the babies within the egg were on the verge of death from being left in such a cold place for so long. A combination of Rad's weird psychic powers, Murdoch's wish with the power of Jirachi, and the love their biological parents had felt for them that saved the babies inside the egg, infusing them with just enough of Rad and Jirachi's energy to bring them back to life.

This would not, however, be the end of the story that leads the twins to their current state.

The beginning of the end is simple. The egg was brought to Rocket Hideout. Murdoch was granted parenthood of the egg, and cared for it. Two perfectly normal babies hatched from the egg. One Plusle, one Minun.

Murdoch named the Minun, a male, Luca, and the Plusle, a female, she gave the name Leia. Luca had a little trouble with his vision, so Murdoch arranged to get him eyeglasses like her own. Leia wanted to look pretty, so Murdoch made her a little head bow. She carefully taught booth of them to Sketch like she did, their Mew energy allowing them to learn the move they wouldn't normally be able to learn. It was joy and calm for a while, until the worst possible thing happened. Due to the circumstances of their birth, the twins had some strange energy signatures within their bodies, and it was only a matter of time before someone took notice. Murdoch doesn't know how she missed the humans swooping in and snatching her babies while they were out exploring the city, but she was too slow to stop it.

While Murdoch ran to get help, the humans wasted no time in beginning to experiment on the infants, trying to determine how these seemingly normal Plusle and Minun babies had the energy of two mythical Pokemon in their makeup. They performed brutal scans, not caring about the well-being of the babies. A Porygon 2 living in the human's computer system tried to slow them down, seeing that this was not positive behaviour and wanting to save the babies, but was ineffective.

Meanwhile, Murdoch recruited the most ruthless Pokemon she knew to help her find her babies. Darci hated humans and was highly skilled in... various things, and Murdoch secretly promised her loyalty to Darci's cause in return for the safe retrieval of her children. Hearing that a rescue attempt was in order, Everest and Pargetha offered their services. They did their best, but it was nearly too late for the babies. Murdoch wept openly for the first time, and in an attempt to get the Rattata/Smeargle's attention back on the situation at hand, Darci violently ripped the tag off her ear. The physical pain was, surprisingly, just the right thing to get Murdoch's mind back on track.

Everest, Murdoch, Pargetha, and Darci worked tirelessly, trying to repair the damage that had been done, but it wasn't enough. Finally, the Porygon 2, having been watching this whole time, emerged from their computer system and offered itself to help the babies. Their guilt over what it had failed to stop was enough to get it to try to help. The Porygon 2 split itself into a data stream and flowed into the baby Minun and Plusle, upgrading them and repairing them but sacrificing itself in the process. Because the Porygon 2 had its Hidden Ability, the hidden ability of Porygon 2 was transferred to Luca. Luca and Leia were now fused with Porygon, gaining it's normal typing and digital powers.

When they arrived back home to Rocket Hideout, the twins were heavily spoiled by Murdoch, the Rattatta sewing small plush mews for them. A blue mew toy for Luca, and a pink one for Leia. And this is where we are led to now, with the kiddos safe and sound under their Mama Murdoch's somewhat overprotective care. But... she has good reason to be overprotective. Luca and Leia retain some properties of the Porygon 2 that saved them, including the characteristic of "glitching" when their emotions get overly strong. Seeing as Darci had been involved in saving them, and since Darci and Mama Murdoch hang out a lot for some reason, Luca decided that meant that Darci must also be his Mama. Being a young child, Luca won't be leaving the safety of Team Rocket for a while. And to be honest, he's happy here with his mom(s) and sister.
