Description I did a pen drawing series this summer which is weird for me because I usually don't think of a theme for so many of the same pieces, but I wanted to do a series of fashion-type drawings based on what I think the court fashions of the Royal Cards would look like based off different historical periods. These drawings are allll about the dresses in question.

This is the Court of Spades, the second drawing. Obviously this dress is based of rococo and modern lolita fashion... ALL THE BOWS!!! This one took the longest to draw, but the design itself came pretty easy to me. I wanted something rococo as hell. I know that traditionally speaking, spade are associated with "death", but I wanted to make the figure and the dress look very jovial and festive. I think it would be made out of a lightweight silk with big black taffeta bows, with a lot of fine netting lace, pin tucks, black pearls and carved gemstone spades.

(I love pintucks. Pintucks everywhere...)

I am digging the fence in the background but I must say my heart is sold on the tiny little details, mostly the chains connecting to the bows with little spade adornments.
Looking at this makes me wonder if your hands cramped at all, because, seriously... all the details and sheer size of this delightful piece must have taking some time and thought.
Lace, ribbons, chains, feathers and fan, you've nailed everything! The gloss on the ribbons... Yes...
If only I were better with words- this pleases my eyes immensely.

It doesn't bother me that much to do all the detail, so long as I use a bigger piece of paper and a small pen. Other than that, I don't get my carpal any worse than I would if I were writing or typing.

I wanted something over the top rococo... and that requires details. XD
