Just to show you I've been doing art, and because so many of you are dying to see my cosplay progress... ta-da!
This is the wig and the headdress that I'll be wearing when I cosplay Suki from Avatar: The Last Airbender at Otakon 2010 this year. I'll be sure to post photos from the event in full cosplay once it's finished!
This was also an assignment for my Photoshop class- hence the recoloring and "painting"of the wig head. Yes, my face is going to be that white and red when I wear the full attire!
I'll keep you updated on the cosplay progress.

The headdress? Craft foam!

My friend helped me make the fans. We just got some paint stir sticks, cut them in half, then duct taped them together in a nice, orderly stack. We then used a drill to put a hole through the bottom, and plopped a bolt with a square-shaped nut in there. Once that was done, we opened it on white fabric and I traced the shape needed for the fan blade. I then cut it out, glued it on (wood glue or crazy glue works fine here), spraypainted it gold, then made all the little diamond/line thingies with permanent marker. ^__^ easy and effective.
I'll have to try that headband method, because mine was just painted cardboard and it felt half-assed. XD

Oooh, I love that idea. ^^ I'd love to try it since mine are so flimsy and breaking!
Just watch that you don't let it flatten out once you heat shape it, and REINFORCE WHERE YOU ATTACH THE HEADBAND (OTL wasted a whole day trying to fix it when I made the elastic too small and the foam tore. T-T)

Repaired a few bits of my armour the other day, need to fix the elastic on my skirt now... And I'm hiding from those sleeves, lol.
