requested I draw the Warriors villain, Mapleshade. This is my spin on her design. I couldn't make tortoiseshell splotches without them looking riduclous, so I opted for this design instead.

Admittedly, she's my second favorite character of all time. Partly because she's a cool baddie, but also because she has a reason for becoming evil. She wasn't born this wicked cat. No, she was driven to the brink of madness by the spurs of revenge. Seriously, everyone was so incredibly harsh to her. Yeah, she shouldn't have gone on a murder spree, but what else are you going to do, when no one's in your corner and you have nothing left to lose? She lost virtually everything.
The strange thing is that the Mapleshade x Appledusk love story is eerily similar to the Bluefur(star) x Oakheart romance. Both she-cats were of ThunderClan and fell for a RiverClan tom who had his eyes set on deputy and leadership. Both had half-clan kits. Yet, StarClan didn't rat out Bluefur like they did Mapleshade, so Bluefur(star)'s secret was never revealed until she was dying. The more books I read, the more StarClan seems to pick favorites and do whatever the heck they want.
