Description Chapter 7

Not long after the darkness pictures came. They were a lot like my nightmares, however my mother and father starred in this one. It was the scene of my mother’s death. Ever since that day I haven’t spoken. My mother, Elizabeth, died in a car crash.

My mother received severe head injuries and died before the paramedics arrived at the scene. My father, William, received no physical injuries however became very ill after my mother’s death. He died a month later in hospital. I would sit with him in his hospital room. He would have nightmares every time he slept; he would toss and turn and scream and shout. I would sit there watching him, tears running down my cheeks.
Sometimes I would wish the doctors would just use medication to kill him. Put him to rest, so he could be with mother. Then he wouldn’t have to suffer, but they refused. They said,
“There’s still hope...” I didn’t believe it... He was going to die anyway...
Then on the 26th of July he finally passed away. I was obviously sad. However I was glad that he was with mother and wasn’t in pain anymore...

The nightmare ended there. I opened my eyes slowly. I was lying on my bed with Tom to my left and Sky to my right. I could feel that my cheeks were wet. My eyes were also sore and I realised I was crying. I threw my arms around Tom. He pulled me close and cradled my against his chest.
“It’s okay... You’re alright...”He whispered to me in a gentle voice.

We sat there for what seemed like hours. Until, finally my tears came to a stop. Tom understood why I had been crying because he watched the nightmare through my thoughts.
“Do you want to get something to eat?” Tom asked in the same gentle voice as before. Before I could respond rationally, a really loud growl erupted from the pit of my stomach. Tom let out a light laugh; that erased all discomfort from the atmosphere. He stood up and set me on my feet. I was still in the beautiful dress. ‘Can you give me a minute?’ I thought to Tom he nodded and left the room closing the door after him.

I slipped the shoes and the dress off and placed them in my wardrobe. I put on the clothes I was wearing that morning and looked in the mirror on my dressing table. I looked terrible. My eyes were red with blood; mascara ran down my cheeks and my right cheek was red from being pressed against Tom’s chest. I went into the bathroom and washed and dried my face. I returned to my bedroom and re-did my make-up.

I walked slowly down the stairs (I wasn’t saw of my footing or my balance). I finally reached the bottom, where Tom was waiting. He pulled me into a hug and walked me into the kitchen. Sky sat on the floor with her face in her hands. Abigail and Alastair sat on the chairs around the table. They looked up as we walked in and they both smiled weakly.

I ran over to my sister and pulled her into a hug. I sat with her and she just cried on my shoulder. I felt Tom’s arms wrap around both of us. The warmth of his arms heated our bodies. Seconds passed and Sky stopped crying. She looked up with her distraught eyes. I pulled Sky’s hair out of her face. ‘What’s wrong with Sky? Why was she crying? Who did this?’ These questions and many more flooded my mind. One of Tom’s arms lifted and he pointed at Abigail and Alastair. ‘WHAT! WHAT DID THEY DO?!’ I asked furiously in my head, but before I had an answer anger began to bubble in my stomach. I saw red. Everything was tinted red. I couldn’t see any reasoning.

All of a sudden I pulled away from Sky and Tom, into a crouch and lunged myself at the people sitting at the table. We all fell to the ground and I went for Alastair’s throat...
