Man, the colors you chose for the highlights and shades work so well together, really creating a sense of fanciful grace and beauty. I love the whiskers and the fur, and the line of motion is calm and subtly entwined with the rest of the image.

Again another amazingly done cat! Their wongs are so pretty and the pictures so fun. I'm curious how long each of these paintings take you?
I have been attempting some watercolors but I keep getting worse not better. Not really my thing I guess even though I love them! And do you start with a pencil sketch and color over?

thank you! each one takes me about 3-4 hours. i'm most certainly NOT a pro, but here's what i do: i sketch it out pretty quickly directly on the board and then do some very simple ink lines. erase the pencil sketch. then i start with the simple colors... usually a light tone and fill in the big areas. then add detail with darker and darker colors. after the colors dry, i go back and thicken the ink lines and details. watercolors are tough sometimes... and they can be difficult to control. but, if you take that to your advantage and let them do what they want, the results can be surprisingly satisfying. i have found that good quality paints will have much better results than the cheaper brands. also... don't be afraid to practice! keep at it and you'll get better every time
