so I'm doing Dangan Ronpa sprite requests on tumblr to see if I can get better, and one of my friends asked if I could give magical girl Aoi a go

and let's be real, magical girls and swimmer babes are two of my favorite things so

it was my second time working with a fullbody sprite, and I think it actually worked pretty well;; |D;;

I haven't quite decided what her wish would have been [though someone suggested her wishing to save people from "drowning" in despair, which is rEALLY GOOD AND GETS THE THEME I WANT], but whatever it was, it plays into a "water" theme in her design. I used mostly blues because one, water, and two, her name [though the kanji for her first name actually means "hollyhock", not "blue", so...;;] There's also some really blatant references to another character and I'm p sure you can figure it out if you think about what else I like. I also avoided the typical "girly" design, because in her freetime events, Aoi specifically mentions a lack of interest in girly things and caring more about sports. Realtalk, that's a swimsuit she's wearing. [in the initial design it was a fullbody suit but I nixed it because apparently?? those aren't legal anymore in competitive swimming??? wHY??????]

Obviously, one of her powers is water manipulation, but she also fights using a ring buoy-like weapon. It can serve as a lasso, ooooor she can just bludgeon familiars and witches with it. u w u)/
