Description
Another "What if" idea, the basics are :
1. Pink did get a colony but it was not the earth, she got one from White after asking her
(This is based on what "Volleyball" aka pink pearl told in the episode "Volleyball", instead of telling Pink no, White told her that she would give her one, but if she were to mess anything up, even the smallest thing, her pearl would be taken away from her. That is also the reason Pink Pearl isn't cracked, white gave Pink one, so she didn't throw a fit afterward, thus Pink Pearl didn't get cracked. And since Pink cared deeply for Pink Pearl (at least in my version, canon-vise I am not sure) she genuinely made the effort and tried hard to complete that colony.)
2. She still got Spinel
(Since our Pearl knew Spinel, that means she got her after Pink Pearl got taken away, in this version she got Spinel from Blue, since Pink was, long after completing her first Colony, still in fear of losing Pink Pearl (Even though White only meant it for that specific colony and nothing beyond that), that fear turning her into constant paranoia and getting rid of her "Childish, naive and troublesome" nature. The nature that Blue loved for the most part. So Blue gave Spinel to Pink in hopes of getting at least some of the "Old Pink" back. But alas Pink ended up instructing Spinel to "play" with Blue whenever she visited, it distracts Blue so Pink can keep working.
PS: She currently is more numb and a workaholic, no longer paranoid)
3. She also ended up with our pearl. But mostly since, well Pink Pearl, like most pearls, are like their owners when it comes to personality, so she requested a second pearl. When she asked for it it was more of the lines of "I have so much work and so much to overlook, one pearl isn't enough to assist". But in reality, it was so that this second pearl would take over most of those duties, to spare Pink Pearl into having to change her personality like Pink Diamond had to. That's also why Pink kept Spinel, she wants to preserve all innocence as best as she can.
4. Yes, she does have a new form, a more "mature" one. I did intentionally went with the hairstyle and shoulder pads from Garnet's story of her.
5. Steven is not born yet. For this AU currently, they are nowhere near the timeline of Steven being born and the earth is not a colony, everything happened way before the canon timeline. I do like the thought of Steven still being born eventually, and this time there are fewer but still some problems of hers for him to fix.
Also, I already redrew Spinel and Pink Pearl's design, I will post that later
Oh and uh- Canon Pink Diamond is just there for the funs of it- But I guess one could see it as her looking at this Alternative path.

that's interesting; I wonder though; when she does decide to go to earth, will she still fall in love with the life there or at least do some type of compromise where the earth will be a colony but by then Pink would have found a way to have it be a functional colony without killing the life on it.

oh what great questions~
She would eventually discover earth, and whilst walking around it to inspect it (this time not in secret, she had over hundred of successful colonies. This is just routine at this point.) she would find humans. Now she never saw any organic life looking so much like a gem, and I find the idea of her thinking that humans are gems in the beginning quite entertaining, maybe to the point where she simply asks which kindergarten they emerged from, simply for the humans to look at her confused (and most likely not even understand her language) and her finally realizing that those "gems" she's been talking to, are not actually gems.
Of course, organic life looks different each time, these just happen to look like gems, nothing to worry about right? Well, it would actually worry her, get her to re-think her values and morals. Could she ever end the life of something that looks like one of her own kind? (Minus the actual gemstone) Most likely giving her a lot of guilt and shame for making all those colonies.
Now one thing I deeply love from the show was the emphasis put on "Changing" with the episode of Greg babysitting sour cream as a baby. I would really like for this Alternative Pink Diamond at that point to question if a gem could even change in such a way, if there is the possibility of stoping this whole act she's been putting on.
For the second part, she would not make the earth a colony in any way. She would make a case for earth and if that wouldn't work simply fight for earth, not as a disguised Rose Quartz, but as herself.

hm that makes sense; it would be like Pink, during her time on earth would begin revaluating herself, thinking about what she went through to get everyone's approval, what she did to reach success, and what she gave up that made her happy. It'd go to a point where maybe at this point she realized if she couldn't make her diamond sisters (and mom) happy or appreciate her as she was before was it even worth doing it before? I could also see at this point gems close to her like her pearls, spinel, maybe Jasper, and a rose quartz (or all of them) would aid her and the other crystal gems/her allies in deciding earth's fate, willing to accept losing everything, being imprisoned or killed for earth while the other diamonds would be confused and angry that she's giving up everything for 1 planet.
Though I wonder if alt Pink would find a way to have steven and still exist or she'd have to go for him to be born; if she did live and had him (and maybe had a few more kids) I could see her being a loving mother, but being more upfront with her demons as she got older and taking more responsibility for her actions, not caring about her demise if the others are spared. that's just my guess
