Description
“Good to see you again, Leif, Saint, May.”
“Good to see you too, Koume.”
Koume proceeded to introduce us to her four sisters, the famous Kimono Girls of Ecruteak City. While widely known for their dancing and acting skills, they are more locally known as the keepers of myths and as avid naturalists. As we walked through their outdoor garden, each one of us held a Pokémon. May had Togi, Leif had Kenkō, and I brought out Ion.
“Kenkō is already looking a lot better even in the short time he has been with you,” Koume said.
“Thanks,” Leif said, “but I don’t think I have much to do with it. I think you were right just wanting him to get out more.”
“And you, Saint,” Tamao, the Umbreon sister asked, “what are you going to evolve little Ion into?”
“Don’t know yet. All the possibilities are very good. It may just come down to circumstance.”
“But you all didn’t come over here just to talk about Pokémon health, did you,” Sumomo, the Vaporeon sister, chimed in, “how about three of us sisters have three one-on-one battles with you.”
“Well I’m never one to turn down a good battle,” I said.
“Then it’s settled, we’ll battle elementally. Koume will battle whichever one of you has a Fire-type, Satsuki will battle an Electric-type, and I’ll battle a Water-type.”
“Bring it, sister,” May said.
…
“The first battle will be between Sumomo and May,” Satsuki, the eldest sister, announced, “what Pokémon will you use, May.”
“Come on out, Aqua!”
“Vaporeon versus Croconaw. Begin!”
“Vaporeon, use Quick Attack!”
“Aqua, use Bite!”
Vaporeon danced around Aqua’s repeated Bite attacks. Eventually, Aqua tired himself out, allowing Vaporeon to get in a hit.
“Now Vaporeon, Aurora Beam!”
“Look out, Aqua!”
Aurora Beam hit flush and froze Aqua in his tracks.
“Finish with Quick Attack!”
Vaporeon rushed in and nailed Aqua, shattering the ice and knocking May’s Pokémon out.
…
“Next round is Koume’s Flareon against Leif’s Quilava. Begin!”
“Flareon, Fire Spin!”
“Arashi, dodge and use Swift!”
Arashi jumped above the fiery attack and hit Flareon clean with Swift.
“Flareon, Flamethrower!”
“Arashi, blast through that with Flame Wheel!”
Arashi wheeled right into the Flamethrower, which only served to make Flame Wheel more powerful. Once it struck its mark, it was game over.
…
“Seems we’re all tied up here,” Sumomo, now acting as judge, said, “this is the final battle. Satsuki’s Jolteon against, wait, what Electric-type do you have, Saint?”
“I don’t have an Electric-type per se, but I feel both you and Satsuki will agree with my choice. Come on out, Mimik and transform!”
My shiny blue Ditto appeared on the battlefield and immediately transformed into a Jolteon.
“Fine by me,” Sumomo said, “begin!”
“Jolteon, use Thundershock!”
“Agility Mimik, followed by Quick Attack.”
Mimik ran right around the electric attack and struck quickly and precisely.
“Now Mimik, a Thundershock of your own!”
“Jolteon, Zap Cannon!”
I smirked. The Thundershock blocked the Zap Cannon and I had an opening.
“Mimik, Agility and then Zap Cannon!”
“Quick Jolteon, dodge it.”
Mimik quick maneuvered right next to Jolteon and blasted it with Zap Cannon at point-blank range. Jolteon sparked with the static electricity the attack gives off, then went down.
“I’m sorry,” I said, “That may have been a bit over-kill.”
“He’ll be fine,” Satsuki said, “That was a good series of battles though.”
…
*RING**RING**RING*
“Yes?”
“Ma’am, we have a problem.”
“What is it this time?”
“Morty has regained his mind. The Gengar we sent was defeated, so he no longer controls Morty’s mind.”
“Don’t tell me. Saint.”
“You told me not to tell you.”
*SLAM*
…
“Good-bye now,” Koume and the rest of the Kimono girls said as we left Ecruteak City, “Be sure to come visit when you come back this way. Good luck in Olivine City!”
“We will, thank you.”
