Martha stood Croft upright and removed her gag. "Alright she's here, I'll wait outside."
"Actually Martha, would you mind sitting in on this session?" A deep voice came from the intercom. Lara was looking into a mirror but she figured it was one-way glass. Martha thew her hands up and settled down on the bench.
"Good Morning, Croft, I'll get straight to the point. You have two outcomes, you either stay here or you return to the legal system and face trial for multiple-murder. You could be facing the death penalty, do you understand your situation?"
Lara licked her lips, "yes."
"I have a third option, my employers want an artifact from the Island, you seem to be adept at traversing the various chambers and would likely be a good candidate to retrieve it. If you agree, we can waive your legal problems and have you returned to your previous life."

Lara was skeptical, she'd resigned herself to her crimes. "How is that possible?" She asked.
"Given the geographical location of your crimes, there is an interesting loophole with maritime law and diplomatic immunity. And it works, doesn't it Martha?"
Martha looked up for second and nodded; painful memories returned, hopefully this whole assignment would be over soon.
"You must understand the Island has been an open secret for decades, thousands of tonnes of shipping doesn't go missing without people asking questions; plus there is a rather modern World War Two infrastructure built there, so we know all about Himiko."

Lara knew this was a ticket out, but remained skeptical. "What do you want from me?"
"You must agree to return to the island with our team. No further details can I give you."
She didn't even need to process it. "Yes."
"This meeting is concluded. Martha, take her back to her cell. We'll get her out within a few days. Lara, DO NOT talk about this with anyone."
