Description On their pilgrimage the Dammed must face an entity known as the Boatman, their only means of crossing the great river to continue their pilgrimage. While they are on his boat he will test them through deception to test out their worth, if they fail he casts them out from his boat and they join their brethren in the great river and he shall continue transporting the remaining pilgrims across the river. Sailing on the backs of dead men.

Well if you can I'd recommend you take up an art course say I just finished an Art Foundtion course where teachers throw a load of materials your way and tell you to get busy (more to it than that but that's the bare bones ) I've only been sculpting properly for less than a year believe it or not but I had access to enough materials to develop my sculpting without having to pay for most of it

Ah, I already have a double degree planned for uni... don't think I could handle three courses. But maybe one day

O_O thats a lot of big words
Why arts and science if you dont mind me asking?

I don't know, honestly. I always loved dinosaurs, and one day last year my mum found me reading a dinosaur book and said 'why don't you be a palaeontologist?' And I said 'I think I will'.Β
And writing has been something I've been doing for a long, long time. I wrote my first novel (100 pages, so I'd now consider it a novella ) at nine. So that was always something I was going to do.Β

aaaaaaaaaaah fair enough what sort of stories do you write?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Arasteia In reply to StaxMaye [2014-08-04 07:05:12 +0000 UTC]

Fantasy and sci-fi mostly, tilting more towards fantasy lately. Lord of the Rings type ones, with non-human races both made up and taken from obscure folklore, and multiple protagonists. At least that's my current novel series.

Have you ever read Dune? Its a sci fi novel with a lot of medival and arabic influencesΒ

No, I haven't, but it sounds cool. Medieval and arabic? Sounds like an interesting combination

Indeed, it's very lore heavy though (there's about 10 pages worth of a dictionary and backstory at the back of the book and a few maps somewhere) but that just helps you apreciate how dependant every faction is on Spice and how messed up things become if anyone tries to change thatAnother cool thing is the guy who wrote it was into history so at the start if every chapter there would be an extract from a prayer book or bibliography just to make the events feel realistic

I'm fine with lore. That's basically all Tolkien's Silmarillion was and I loved that. That sounds really cool. I'll have to read it one day.
