Painted this as part of my painting-a-day challenge to see what I could paint in one day. Just did it for a week but it was really useful.This piece was my most successful Instagram painting which was eye-opening because I usually take a week to make a painting. Kinda goes to show that it's not always about finish or level of rendering, but more about emotion and energy and mood etc.
This was inspired by my many trips to Disneyland/World and my favorite ride, the Pirates ride, as well as the new pirate-themed Tom Sawyer's island, which has these caves where you can look down into little barred windows and such to see skeletal pirates doing stuff. So magical. I fancy I might do more paintings along the Disney pirates theme.

Yeah, this took me back to when I was a kid on the Pirates ride in Disneyland. I always thought those cannonball splashes could hid our little boat.

Personally, I didn't really have a favorite ride at Disney. I mean, the nature exhibit where they walk around (or ride in a train cart? I forget) was pretty fun. The pirate ship was really cool, though!

Ah, okay. I forget which one I went to, but I know it's in Florida. I only went once with my sisters and father, and it wasn't very memorable (to me, at least) aside from all the walking so I guess that's why. Haha

Oh wow. Ever since I thought up my pirate idea for a story, I have been in love with pirate ships. this is amazing; the fire really catches my eye, and makes me wonder what is happening
