Can I have your permission to port the MGS2 sneaking suit part of your Solid Snake to MGSV with FMDL Studio? It's the highest quality port of it I can find. Big fan of your stuff, makes me want to some Source Filmmaker models myself at some point.

It wasnt and it's never been. It's always been gray, sure a dark gray, but never black. The MSX versions was green.

Wait, are you being serious? It's hard to tell. I was about to suggest you google search. www.metalgearsolid.be/images/iβ¦
If anything it's a blue-y gray colour, a slightly darker gray for MGS2, and back to the original in 4. 3 is more on the black side, but those bandanas arent meant to be the same since they're also not the same character, and Big Boss threw it away in Peace Walker, returning to it's blue-y gray self in MGS5.
Lets please not continue a conversation that is answered with a simple google search.

Did you see my other reply about the colours? People believing them to be Dark Slate Gray, Olive Drab, Gray, Blue, Black. I've never thought Big Boss' was black myself and I have the actual model from the game and photoshop is telling me it's Dark Slate, but more on the dark green side than what Solid Snakes is. Also clearly stealth211 thinks it's that colour too, and Kojima for MGS4 on the MGO reward store listed it as Dark Slate.
It's kind of a weird argument though, same as that dress thing. Maybe calibrate your monitor? Oh and remember, Big Boss and Solid Snake are two different people, they didnt use the same bandana, the whole of Foxhound had bandanas with Fox being red. Lighting is also a factor in stealths picture, it's not really that bright, but it isnt black either.

Oh wait I get it, you see all the darker shades of colours as a black colour, rather than what they actually are. You should look up all the colour variations of black gray blue and green, though chances are they are all black to you.
Edit: It bugged me a little bit so I decided to go into the files of all the games and show you the exact colours. The only one I couldnt find since the bandana is attached to one of the many fatigue textures is the Peace Walker one, but that one is a solid black. I dont seem to have the Portable Ops Snake.
As you see, most are on the black side, but they're not black as it says on the colour sampler, which is exactly what I've been saying. The texture itself shows a lighter colour each time. The Boss and Big Boss use the same bandana yet Big Boss' is slightly on the green side, but looks dark gray in the actual texture. Lighting in the game occasionally shows it as a green too.
I sampled the Twin Snake's bandana twice because theres 2 colours there. Both are variations of blue while Old Snake is definitely blue. I hope this clears things up for you.
The colour names according to their HEX:
"Big Stone" #333E44 (The Boss)
"Racing Green" #222927 (Big Boss)
"Atomic" #42494D (Venom)
"Black Pearl" #121A1D (Solid 1)
"Oxford Blue" #262E31 (Solid 2)
"Vulcan" #323840 (Old Snake)
www.htmlcsscolor.com/hex/
If you still see these colours as just black, then theres something wrong with your monitor.

I havent PMed you yet and actually I dont intend to, no offence, I'm sure you're a nice guy and I've been civil too! You started by saying the bandana is wrong and listed various pictures where it appears black to you, so it's not just about this model, I also I have this model and the vest isnt black, that picture is also not black either but nice fanart by georgesears1972.

The bandana has never been black. Its always been the shade of blue/grey since MGS1, with the differences in consoles and graphics over the years I'm sure it has been "seen" as different colors but it's always been blue/grey. Solid Snake's has anyway, I like to believe the same even for the Original Metal Gear and MG2: Solid Snake, but due to the 8bit style.. and the way it's perceived, it could of possibly been the green as it was shown. Big Boss's bandana was taken from The Boss, and it was a shade of green, or olive drab or whatever tint it was. But it was never black. My model here is in no way perfect or 100% accurate to the in game model, but I did try to do the colors as close as possible.. the sneaking suit in MGS1 was all a shade of grey/blue with darker spots in a few places.. but the bandana did noticeably stick out with its bluer color, so that is why it's not the same color as the vest...
Hope this settles it. Our eyes, monitors, and perception of colors and visuals could all possibly be different so, try to take that in mind.

I figured I'd do another search, turns out people also believe it to be Olive Drab, Dark Slate Gray, and Navy. But lets just agree to disagree, this isnt going anywhere, we see what we see, maybe your red is my green, who's to say.
