Description
DC's Tatsu Yamashiro aka Katana. Based mostly on her current New52 costume, slightly redesigned by me. It's always a challenge making a "Pin- Up" shot of a woman that's supposed to be a fierce warrior so I decided to base my drawing on the Rin Nakai (judoka and MMA fighter) because of her unusual mix of athletic/ muscular physic and natural feminine curves. As far as her surrounding go I wanted an ultra- traditional Japanese household with hints of modern times (namely the fashion magazine on the floor). Also, I decided to follow the simple color scheme of her uniform and apply it on the complete piece and I'm actually pretty pleased with the results. Pen and ink, ink wash and Adobe Photoshop.
