What could be worse?
Muahaha... What other humiliating medical conditions can we come up with?...
A broken leg, forces her to keep it up at an odd angle in a cast. A cold gives her a running nose so she sniffs and sounds like she's crying. A sore throat makes her voice croaky and weird. A hurt wing, so she can't fly, and must be helped up to her house by Fluttershy.
And, to top it all off, for the grand finale; she must wear a diaper for incontinence. I don't even want to mention what that means, in combination with the cone that keeps her from seeing it...
She would not be seen in public for months, but only by her caretakers

All I have to say is, who are you people like? Does your apparent liking of humiliation make you like Trixie, your friend-demeaning dialogue make you like Discord, careless approach make you like Lightning Dust, or βMuahaha... What other humiliating medical conditions can we come up withβ¦β make you like King Sombra? I would say itβs a sour mix of them.
Stuff like this makes us no better than the haters of the show because all it ends up doing overall is adding to the reasons they present ... this comment is assuming you actually do support the show.

Lol. Like Dash's pranks, it's all in good fun. Something like this also, takes things that may be the cause of anxiety and causes us to laugh at them, relieving that anxiety. Also, if done mutually, and taken lightheartedly, can be nothing more than a good laugh and breaking down of excessive pride.
As if that weren't enough; It's not only fiction, but fiction of fiction; it's not even real in the context of fiction!
It's anxiety-relieving poking fun at fiction of fiction, particularly poking fun at the idea of being embarrassed.
That is, opposed to what Rainbow Dash did, falling on the ground laughing, mocking the idea that Twilight could run the Running of the Leaves.
Hmm, perhaps, though, it's best not to even encourage by depiction, mockery of incontinence. If you'll notice, the only character that does it is Pinkie, and she really just can almost never take things seriously, anyways. Rarity said something supportive, and Twilight's just being technically accurate as ever.
It was also done somewhat from a comedy perspective. On 's page the Fluttershy face was perfect, but in truth, I really don't think she'd react that way to a friend in such desperate need. She takes care of animals, after all, so she's certainly worked with that kind of thing before, anyways. She's very much like the Brown Wizard from The Hobbit, and remember he had half his head covered in bird waste. I really doubt Fluttershy would mind taking care of her friend, even like that, at all. And it would be stupid to lose respect for someone for something like that. You'd might as well lose respect for someone who bleeds when they're cut.
Also, in truth, if it was really something humiliating like that, I think even Pinkie would be sensitive enough to not laugh. The pony who'd come closest to laughing at one of her friends in that state is, ironically, Rainbow Dash, I think. And even she would probably be sensitive enough to not laugh.
I could write how I think the characters would actually act. I think they'd be so happy Dash is okay that they'd want to give her a group hug. Only reason they didn't in "Read and Weep" I'd think, is she was in bed and had a broken wing they couldn't touch.

I agree with most of your points and thank you for pointing them out, but the image & response both portrayed more than just embarrassment. It seemed like a much more humiliating version of the βrainbow crashβ attitude in the image, and then an adding insult to injury with the response. I now know that wasn't the case here, but there are so many more out there where it is the case.
Sure, Itβs a fiction of a fiction, but the more purely fiction something is, the more freedom people have to spread our worst traits because it is much easier to justify. I would know because, quite honestly, I originally entered the MLP fandom from some of the more negative sides. But after seeing the show, now I avoid those ideas like the plague.
