Wahaha, don't you hate it when pics don't come out the way you'd hoped? T_TI was SO proud of this lineart, I loved the pose and the expression, but I can't say I'm a fan of the coloring at all, and the background...well, I didn't wanna use a white background, so I messed with some filters.
I love this costume, but I'm not so sure I love the colors. The glowy energy kinda made me mad too...I need to work out a better glow-type filter. x_x I have three more inked drawings of Josie as "Turtlette" for the moment, so hopefully the rest will end up better. Turtlette still sounds so much like Smurfette to me... o.O

I was just tooling around with filters in Photoshop (can't remember what program you use) and you can adjust different kinds of lighting conditions for different layers. I suppose you could also build them up, but I haven't really tried yet.
One of the interesting things you can do that creates glows is to lay down a light color and then on a higher layer lay down a dark one similar to the one you want for the glow. Switch the higher layer to "vivid light".
I don't know if you already have been using those or not, but that's one way of getting glows.

ADORE the outfit!!! Josie looks absolutely awesome in it! And the expression and such are wonderful. I think you did a great job with the "energy" as well as the background (which, btw, is very catching and acts perfectly in making Josie stand out)
And c'mon, I have to give you peeps for being so far the only female Super Turtle artist I've seen so far! That makes my day

Holy cow I nearly flipped out of my seat that's so cool.
You know, when I first read the "Turtlette" I thought it was going to be a picture of Josie on the drill team for a highschool, you know? Because they always seem to end in 'ette'. ((Farmerette, Eaglette, Buckerettes, Lionettes, etc. )) But, that's probably due because I'm -in- the highschool band and at football games we have to play for our 'ette' team a lot...>.> So, obviously it surprised and wowed me to see Josie as the Turtlette super hero.
I love the outfit. o.o LOVE....the outfit. Especially the cape.
*remembers The Incredibles but forgets again due to love for the cape*
So, what powers does she have?

Her powers are kinda similar to a Green Lantern's. She can manipulate energy into different forms-- she can throw energy blasts or create just about anything in her imagination provided she has the right amount of concentration. :3
