Description

On the day of the crystallization of the new prince of Crystal Empire, a powerful spell called "two hearts" was cast over all of Equestria affecting the entire kingdom, on the flank of each creature appeared the mark of it's destined partner, several didn't give it importance since they thought it was part of the crystallization but over time things started to get worse. The curse affected each creature in different ways:

The unicorns began to have attacks of spontaneous magic generating intense headaches and cracks in their horns.
The pegasus, griffins and hippogriffs their feathers began to rot and fall at an alarmingly fast level
The earth ponies began to feel a thousand needles being driven into their hooves as they walked
The dragons began to lose resistance in their scales and claws causing them to burn easily when they touched the volcanic ground of the land of the Dragon Lands
the changelings failed their transformations making them painful and incomplete
The yaks their voluminous coats began to fall leaving them at the mercy of the stormy weather of Yakyakistan
The kirins their attacks of anger became more and more sporadic which led them to have spontaneous combustions and burn other kirins or themselves.
All the leaders got together to deliberate what was happening and what it was that failed in the crystallization, after several days of searching they discovered what had happened, instead of casting the spell "two hearts" was cast "The Soulmates Curse ", an ancient curse created to cause sorrow and pain to the creature that refused to follow their heart, The princesses of Equestria promised all the leaders and their people that they would find the counterspell and that they would free Equestria from this pain.
