The Scream

I walk along the bridge
at dusk and dawn.
The bridge that links
day and night.
Whence I come, whither I go─
the solid path indicates answers:
sunrise, sunset, the starlight.

I sleep along with the river
that flows deep and shallow.
Not sure in my remotest dream,
a deep sigh ever competes
with the frolic of a splash, or
with a sneer, shot from the dark.

I see the day reach its climax─
Under the crimson glow, I see
twisted forms of nature's sons, amidst
natural forms of twisted souls
─That is, when I hear a voice
screaming.
