Description Cuphead and Mugman try to explain to Hallber what video games are. Needless to say, the idea still doesn't quite click with Hallber

Uh, the music for that game was recorded with a live orchestra. I just made my music in Garage Band.

This is more or less trying to explain the specifics of your job to anyone in a different field of work.

True, and I'm sure Cuphead and Mugman are so done explaining it to Hallber. Looks like ole' Hallber will have to wait 40 more years in order to fully understand what the hubbub of video games is about. X3

Yes he will. Knowing how salty he is in his advanced age, he'll probably complain about that too. X3

Well Hallber, you see video is kinda another word for film, like the one you made with that pig before. Except you control the characters yourself!

This reminds of a similar part in Metal Gear Solid 3. But Snake didn't believe such a thing about movies you can control.

Video technology itself didn't exist in 30s. Yes, there was film, but it wasn't quite the same. We didn't really quite get video technology until the 1950s.

And yeah, you can describe as that. XD

I'm guessing the Metal Gear series took place in the past?

Also, have you heard about Cuphead?

If I told you I watched a streamer & 3 Youtubers play it, does that count as a yes?

I meant to comment earlier on my 3DS, which doesn't work well for sites like this, because the charger for the iPad went out. But I found another.
Anyway about Cuphead, There is so much about this game to love. It takes the style & music of the western cartoons of the old days like Warner Bros. It mixes up genres of bullet hells & sidescrollers, but rather being more about levels it's more about fighting bosses, something not seen in games very often of the genre the game is in. The difficulty starts off hard. It doesn't even hold your hand as there are no checkpoints or health items. You go in with what you got. The story is just as those classic cartoons having a moral like gambling is wrong. And despite the game being for "children" if you can say it's for children for how crazy hard the game is, it's not afraid to show some dark stuff. The expressions & game over quotes the bosses have and their unique attacks makes at least most of them memorable. Though I never played it myself, but from watching LPs, I can already say my favorite is probably Grim Matchstick the Dragon. As you know I like Dragon characters. The faces he makes for his intro & final form gets me every time. He has that attitude I like, which is the kind of attitude I give Plessie. Then add the long tongue reminding me of Yoshi. I think my 2nd favorite boss is the bird. The music for them is really good. I also like Funfair Fever's theme which btw sounds like the athletic theme from Super Mario World & bit from Yoshi Island. I haven't seen anything LPs past the 2nd world though. So I'll won't be listening to music until I see the rest of the game from LPers. It's such a fun game to watch others play. The only thing that sucks is that... IT'S NOT ON SWITCH!!!

Yeah, it does kinda suck that it's not available on other consoles aside from Xbox or Steam, but I have been on my computer quite a lot lately, so it only made sense for me to get a Steam account to play it. Besides, I had to play it because I love 1930s animation and cartoons. And the fact they made a whole game around that era really makes me happy.

I've gotten as far as the clown boss. Haven't beat World 2 yet. But I sure am having fun with this game.

I know what you mean, today's era is so much anime with some other art styles. 1930's art style barely gets any recognition, so it's great they made a game to remind LOTS of people of this style. I feel like Cuphead should even get a series about it. Maybe a exclusive Netflix series? Because though it's 30's art is mostly from Cartoon Networks old days than Disney, CN has been really terrible lately. They turned down the Swat Kats reboot, but rather have TeenTitans Go flood the network and act like it's the best show ever. They even ruined Boomerang which hasn't been touched in YEARS. As for Disney, maybe they can have it on Disney XD. They did a good job rebooting Ducktales. So either Disney or Netflix, if the creators decide to turn Cuphead into a show.

Yeah, this is really something that should be made into a series. There's so many possibilities for storytelling with these characters and settings. Just hope there isn't excuses for tight budgets because honestly technology has advanced so much there really shouldn't be an excuse for cartoons to look bad these days.

Well I just watched a Twitch streamer go through all of world 3 & 4 and beat the game. Wow... This game is very stressful. But if you do beat it, there is something awesome it says at the end. Well, now I can go listen to all the music and maybe do that drawing when I have time.

Well I finally got to see some of world 3 as Dashie just uploaded another LP. Wow, they really change it up and add even more new mechanics in world 3.
There really is possibilities for all these characters into a show. And each can have a moral being told similar to how those cartoons showed them long ago.
And there really shouldn't be an excuse considering how much they put into the game and being based on a art style they animated perfectly. The characters already got personalities and how they are in game. Heck the show could just be the games plot...
I think I wanna do a Cuphead drawing now.

Ha ha. Well good that you aren't spoiling anything. I still need to get to world 3. lol

GameKing427 In reply to SteLo-Productions95 [2017-10-09 21:27:26 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I don't wanna spoil it. You really need to see what they do to make it even harder. The developers really wanted to make sure this game is hard like an how old platformer were back in the day or last special worlds of a Mario game.

Wow, this is such an interesting concept! Cuphead and Mugman are basically speechless at this point. I'd love to see this idea explored more tbh

They somehow created a paradox where characters can star in a form of entertainment that wouldn't be developed until over another 40 years later, and still be in the past.
