Background Story:
   Jade Schnell, named for her eyes. She was born in Schatzelle, known for the longest winters throughout Verde. Her parents were born as gifted mages, and they were exceptionally delighted when they saw that their daughter was born with a tattoo on the side of her left thigh. Her mother had high standards regarding her magic and bloodline, and so was especially concerned with Jade's magical education. Unfortunately, upon Jade's awakening of her magic affinity, it was not as her mother hoped. At the age of five, Jade's magic had just awakened, and all she could do was light a candle, whereas all gifted mages her age could do much more. Jade's father did not care much, for he loved her all the same. Her mother, however, thought otherwise. She was about to disown her, feeling shame on having such an untalented child in her bloodline. Jade, as young as she were, understood nothing. Her parents had a great fight for nights. None were physically and magically harmed, but the household came to ruin. Jade's mother left, taking most of the family's fortune. All that was left was a child seeking answers from her brokenhearted father.
   A man with enough talent in magic could easily get a job, but Jade's father settled on being a merchant. His sales were enough - more than enough, actually - to support both his and Jade's needs. Of course, as a merchant, he often went on long trips to secure a good deal. Jade often tags along on his journeys, expanding her horizons, getting to know the Land of Verde. Jade had visited Maxelle a few times while accompanying her father. She fell in love with the atmosphere, a warm sunny landscape with delicious meals. She also learned a lot about magic, such as Harelle's wonderful alchemy and potions. But Jade's father had urgent matters to attend to, and they could not stay at one place for long. Worse, her father's condition began to deteriorate during her teenage years. The pair had to make do with what they have at the time. A lot of things were sold, business went downhill, and they had to move to a quite dangerous neighborhood. Needing money, Jade started gambling and it turned into a habit of hers. She also had to resort to violence to survive against bullies and crooks. Jade taught herself more advanced magic, favoring sparks and flames to light up the cold nights of Schatzelle. Where magic fails, she would just simply use her physical prowess.
   Upon reaching the probable age, Jade was enrolled at MontEuchatel at her father's request. Jade did not learn much at first, but she secured her position as a prominent female student, although it was more of an infamy of sorts. She was known for her fiery temper and dominant attitude. She gets herself in trouble a lot of the time, but often holds back in respect for her father. Over time, her temper and attittude mellows out, turning her to more of a protective bully. As a Magia, she had issues when using her magic for combat-related situations, especially concerning long-range magic and long, drawn-out conflict. Her magic and kicks can only take her so far. As Jade advanced to Scholar grade, she developed a method: using thrown objects as some sort of medium for spellcasting. Her object of choice are cards, due to their elegance and Jade's love of gambling. She then learns more types of magic to support her card-throwing antics, like those to enhance or strengthen her cards.

- Prefers fire magic at first because it brings warmth during cold times in Schatzelle.
- Jade's first card set were actual, legitimate cards. Once burned, however, they are replaced with paper made to look like cards.
- Is actually quite intelligent, but prefers a direct approach through physical labor.
