If you put your finger over the transition between the two colors, you'll find that they're both the same color. Yeah science!!

Really? They look like drawings!
Anyway, the finger thing is hard to explain like really I'm depth, but just put your finger horizontally over the horizon line. The shadow tricks your brain into thinking that the top color is different from the bottom one, but covering it proves they're both the same color.

In this example, the snow as a mirror takes the tints of the sky above.
