Description
Tariel turned Spot Check back toward the pile of mushrooms the fey had obligingly grown for the occasion. They were festive and quite lovely. However, they had been trying over and over tirelessly. Spot Check had sweat gleaming along her sides and Tariel filtered some energy and magic into her. Spot Check didn't want to stop though. So far, she'd balked and shifted her way to and from them. She feared even the softest of jumps, the frail, cushiony mushrooms. However, she continued to try, beating at her courage and though her heart fluttered, she still ran at them with a wild plunge, only to veer just as quickly.

Tariel, in a smaller form than normal, was ready to ride the pony, her natural shapeshifting allowing her to become the size of a small elf. Of course, her shapeshifting would be her downfall. As they neared the mushrooms, she tried to relax. Of course, they'd had several issues already, some pixies playing tricks and more. As they neared the jump, a loud sound nearby shocked them both as they sprang over the jump. Tariel's ebony wings suddenly burst from her back in a shower of inky feathers. She yelped, but kept her seat, the long-feathered wings streaming behind them. Smoothly, though, they sailed through the air and landed on the opposite side of the mushroom patch.

"WE DID IT!" Cried Spot Check, tossing her aqua mane from her eyes, only to have them hidden again a second later. Her bright white D4 on her forehead brilliantly glowed with an alabaster light for a moment.

"OH we did!" Cried Tariel. "But my wings popped out." The two giggled, as did a few nearby fey. "But now...what was that sound...." Solemnly, they all turned to look at the deepest, darkest portion of the wood. That was where the sound was from.

"Its almost Beltane." Said Tariel softly, her heart beating. She feared little, but she feared the darker creatures of the Wood.

"We should talk to Abathia." Said Spot Check softy. Her ears laid flat against her neck. Perhaps the unicorn goddess could give them some guidance.

This is my character Spot Check [link] who is currently training to compete in jumping. She's one of my Gygaxian Steeds (a Dungeons and Dragons themed HorseArt breed). She is up for lease between competitions. This is a training pic for Beginners and Pleasure Jumping competition (her show pic will come soon).

She might also compete in the jumping shows.

Spot Check never really had the skill or training to do this before she decided that she would volunteer to learn. She is pushing herslef to do something she'd never done before and she's finding a drive toward it. Now that she's done her training...she's ready for the big wide world of show jumping.
