It is so distinct that I think if you are lucky enough to be familiar with the area, it will usually jump out at you in photos

Right about that - this one leaped out and slapped me across the face When I'm hiking again (next summer) I want to stay here for a couple days.

I am hoping to see if my knee has recovered from last summers surgery enough to hike up to Frog lake (Carson Summit) this summer

Yeah, good luck to you! I have come to realize the hard way that the knees are not to be taken lightly. I will gladly take the time to fully heal than push myself to soon. At least surgery usually heals faster than healing naturally, but short of walking into the ER, I have no other option. I hope you have a wonderful summer of hiking - I will probably be switching to macro for the summer, as I only need to walk outside onto my deck to take photos!

So are you having surgery? I agree, knees shouldn't be taken lightly. My left one never fully healed from surgery last June, and now my right one needs surgery Sadly, my issues are due to psoriatic arthritis, so I am as good as I am going to get. My only planned hike is to Frog lake, just to see if I still can. I think I will do most of my exploring via 4x with my husband behind the wheel (I want to do the Genoa Trail next)

No surgery just yet. I'm hoping to heal on my own - but my job makes it kind of difficult to do that. We'll see. I hope your hike goes well!
