10. Prince Cornelius (Thumbelina)
Why other people hate him: Cornelius is said to be boring and a generic prince archetype. Which is understandable.
Why I like him: One of the things I loved about Cornelius is that he went out of his way to find Thumbelina and didn't give up despite the circumstances. He also didn't treat Thumbelina like she was a prize and loved her for herself.

9. Victoria Everglot (Corpse Bride)
Why other people hate her: They believe that Victoria is "in the way" of Victor and Emily's relationship.
Why I like her: Victoria was shown to be kindhearted and savvy. After all, she did come up with clever solutions to her problems when she was locked up. She even tried to help Victor after Emily took him away. Victoria also recognized that Barkis wasn't a good match for her and stood up to him as well.

8. Anne-Marie (All Dogs Go to Heaven)
Why other people hate her: They think that Anne-Marie is annoying and doesn't have other qualities besides being sweet.
Why I like her: While Anne-Marie is mostly portrayed as a kind and compassionate young girl (which I also loved about her), she also knew the difference between right and wrong. Why do you think she was disappointed with Charlie for stealing and lying to her? That side of Anne-Marie was pivotal to her characterization, and I think it's a shame that some people don't recognize it. Heck, it's also the reason Charlie had a change of heart by the end.

7. Krumm (Aaahh!!! Real Monsters)
Why other people hate him: Well, I wouldn't say that Krumm is "universally" hated by any means. I feel that he is hated in an unreasonable way because some of the fans seem to prefer both Oblina and Ickis over him.
Why I like him: Krumm was shown to be a good friend towards Ickis and Oblina throughout the series. For all I know, he was also willing to help them when they needed it most.

6. Thumbelina
Why other people hate her: Thumbelina tends to complain about the situations she's in and didn't get much development.
Why I like her: While I agree that her whining and complaining should be toned down, I admire Thumbelina for her loyalty to Cornelius. Another thing I loved about her was that she tried to escape on her own twice (the first time on a lily pad, the second time being the part where she escaped Mr. Mole's home).

5. Melody Locus (My Life as a Teenage Robot)
Why other people hate her: They believe that Melody took Brad away from Jenny and got in the way of their relationship. Because of this, they try to make her look worse than how she was actually portrayed.
Why I like her: Melody was shown to be smart and selfless in addition to being kind. In fact, Jenny and Brad would most likely be stuck in Dr. Locus' lab if she didn't help them. She even saved him and Tuck from being injured during a fight with Jenny. Another thing that some people overlook is that Brad never opposed Melody and enjoyed spending time with her. Oddly enough, the hate towards Melody was one of the reasons I wound up preferring Brad with her instead of Jenny.

4. Pauline (Super Mario Bros. franchise)
Why other people hate her: They think she gets in the way of Mario and Peach's relationship.
Why I like her: Pauline is actually more sophisticated than the fans like to admit. I also noticed that she does a great job running New Donk City as a mayor.

3. Mr. Krabs (SpongeBob SquarePants)
Why other people hate him: He's greedy and has done a lot of bad things in the later seasons.
Why I like him: While I disagree with some of his actions, I feel that Mr. Krabs also had redeeming qualities. Grandpappy the Pirate being an example, in which he admitted he lied to his grandfather. He had that side of him in some episodes such as Shell Shocked, where he tried to help SpongeBob and Gary. I personally don't mind people who hate him, but if other people want to like Mr. Krabs, then they're free to do that.

2. Phoebus (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)
Why other people hate him: They wanted Esmeralda to be with Quasimodo instead.
Why I like him: It was indicated that Phoebus did not see Esmeralda as an object of worship. He treated her like she was an actual person. On top of that, Phoebus put other people's needs before his own.

1. Flurry Heart (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic)
Why other people hate her: Flurry is portrayed as overpowered and causes trouble sometimes.
Why I like her: Flurry Heart may not have much development, but I feel that she doesn't mean any harm. I also noticed that she can have a good sense of judgement. For instance, she was against King Sombra and knew that he was a bad individual. She also deserves more credit for that.
