Description This was not a scene from any nightmare; but rather, a soft, quiet, melancholic dream. I'm not sure why it was stuck in my brain. But after drawing this, I haven't seen it again.

- Charcoal on Lennox paper, 14.5" x 22.5".

WOW. stunned. this is so well executed, it has such a great depth to it, and is so perfectly reminiscent of what dreaming is really like

It seems meloncholy, but also like there is an element of exploration and discovery.

Dreams... yeah.

Nightmares are actually physiologically different from dreams, it's not a matter of subject matter, but the experience. Many dreams about frightening things are actually pretty relaxed, even enjoyable, and some nightmares wake you up with terror and upon reflection weren't scary at all.

I never thought of dreams that way. Do you have one type of dream more often than the others? The majority of mine are of very scary things, but like you said, the whole dream is still pretty relaxed.

I have all kinds of dreams. I don't think that there are too many common themes to them. Also my level of interactivity is differs quite a bit dream to dream. I actually had a long running serial dream in 10th grade that sucked me into it's plotline and dulled real life a little. That was interesting.

Dreams are a strange and important piece of my life actually.

I love that. I think they should be a large part of everyone's life (or people should at least pay more attention to them). I think it's one of the few times the imagination is allowed to run wild and have a little fun.

Seems like such a beautiful dream; what did it sound like, if you remember?

I don't think I've ever been able to remember sounds from my dreams, but I would guess that it'd probably be silent except for the sound of lapping water and waves.

Really amazing. I am impressed at the way you have captured these visions. I struggle so often to do that with my own dream scapes.

I love all of the images in this series. This one in particular, when I see it I feel like I've been there. The emotion is well conveyed.
