Description
Made for a customer on NSHC. I thought the character was interesting. He is blind, so he 'sees' things in his mind differently than what things really look like. If you look closely you can see a horse and mountains in the mist.Horse from flickr.

Is there a horse hidden in the fog?? Or am I seeing things....anyhoo...I luff it, and I faved it...I like the splashes but they probly should be bigger.....cant really crit it though since I dont know allthat much...teehee....

oooooh this is very pretty! i love how everything is greyish-foggy and you can pretty much only guess the details and distances.. being blind for a long time must be pretty close to that....

oooooh only just noticed you want an advanced critique lol.. hum.. i dont exactly have a critique for but but a suggestion.. try setting the modeof the smudging tool on "darken" when you do the manes and tails because then you don't get those faint/blurry/grey edges around the single strings of hair n stuff.. hope that helped a bit xD

-dies- Love this image! You certainly delivered this one grandly. Great job. The only thing that slightly bites me are those splashes... Not sure how to explain it, but yea. hehe. Other than that I love the fog, the shiny-ness of the horse and the TEXT! Omg! Love the text yes yes, great effect with its reflection type thing going on there. I am really envying your text right now in this image too hehe. Lovely job Steppeh.

The text...I got inspiration from one or two other pics I've seen with text like that. I was like "Hmm, how in the world am I gonna put text on this? And then I thought about the ones I'd seen and I thought that would be just about perfect ^^

The text goes very nicely with the fog in the image as well as the water, but the name fits perfectly too.

The only thing that I really don't like about this image are the splashes - water doesn't act like that!

Haha, I know...I do have a problem with small splashes. I like them teeny tiny, so I really need to work on forcing myself to make them bigger ^^

Beautiful. I love the text.
One thing I could change is the slogan/subtext. I think a cleaner font, like silkscreen, would look much nicer. Also, I think the splashes could stand to be lighter/more transparent, and larger.

Yeah..I agree. I never have been able to get silkscreen to work for me, though. I'll work on that...The splashes, haha, I know...but I like them that way. I can work on that though.

No problem!
Silkscreen is actually quite easy to work with, unless it's just not working on your computer. Are you setting the aliasing to "none;" that makes pixel fonts look a lot smoother, because it turns off the fading pixels around the edges.
