Description
This is art from the Gankutsuou: the Count Of Monte CristoHopefully one of my next cosplays. I keep telling people about him but they can't get passed Naruto to watch any other anime. No I didn't draw this one but I wanted to show what he looks like. I think I can pull him off.

I keep trying to get my friends to watch this series too but they can't get passed the moving patterns--or the gay jokes. >>;;

Gay jokes? Whyyyy? What's up with that? Hehehe. It's a great story ( I like the original A. Dumas' version too) and the art is wonderful. So I don't get why they can't watch it unless it somehow gives them an epileptic seizure. LOL! Well, they will miss out on a great anime. Their loss. Wait till you see my cosplay of the Count. He's almost done.

I don't know. Maybe I just have weird taste in TV shows or somefink. I'm a fan of the novel by Dumas as well, and I'd be lying if I didn't say I was pleased the anime incorporated a lot of characters who got left out in 2002 live action movie (like HAYDEE!)

considering your wardrobe , your ears .. I think you can too .. just need to make the hair blue

Thanks! hehe. technically his hair really isnt blue...but most cosplayers wear the black beccause its less distracting.....he is light blue all over anyway and it looks tacky.....second...not very many cosplayers chose the blue wigs for many reasons, one it looks hideous on camera and there is no contrast against his skin.....and third, the blue-haired wigs are not dark enough. Sometimes, like in the anime, his hair looks black...or like it has black and dark blue clouds in it with a hint of grey. I've seen a cosplayer with the blue hair and it sucked. Hehehe. Its hard to interpret cartoons into a 3 dimentional, tangible existance in the real world, mostly partaining to the "cartoon physics meets real world" syndrome. I'll try for "closer to the character vs real life hair as possible. I have an idea *grins evily*.This old artist has a few tricks up his sleeve yet. If my idea works it works...if not oh well. Hehehe
But the beauty of cosplay suggests I don't need to be "exact". Hehehee I however, will have the jacket and cape he wears made. I admit I'm a bit of a perfectionist myself, and I will try to potray
him partaining to the physics of the real world or course. LOL

Just an update on the Gankutsuou cosplay we were talking about last spring....I found the perfect wig it's on it's way...it did end up being black- dark blue. Its epic! The cape is done and it's epic as hell, found a brocade for the inside liner with a fancy paisley pattern almost like the Count's...and get this...it's metallic looking and the colours shift in the light to that goldish-red hue like in the anime. Hehe. The jacket is almost done although it's a tad longer than his in the anime and with epic cuffs and silver buttons. I bought it originally and thought with some modificatins it will be better albiet slightly off from the original anime. The fire motif on his sleeves will be the same colour shifting metalic brocade as the cape's liner. It suits my needs and tastes. So, in short it will be a fan variation of sorts. Plus I'm wearing leather pants instead of the cloth-like pair he has in the anime.

Im not sure. Its based on what funds I have at the time.heheh. Beginning it and DMC Dante soon tho. Will just have to do both costumes in parts here and there. I'm starting the Counts cape real soon.Just keep watching. Ill try to have things done by August or October. We have a con coming up in October. hehe

I usually announced when things are done or schedule a photoshoot and put up pics. Thats when others know things are done too. hehehehe. I have Kaname Kuron from Vampire Knight done tho....so I just have to schedule a shoot for the pics. I'll have those up soon. I have to shave the beard off for him and look more "femmy" because the Japanese like their men femmy or effeminate and draw them like that whether they are gay or hetero. Girls just love 'em! They call them bishonen which means beautiful boy. Can't really understand why girls everywhere love them. Hehehe. But hey, I have been called a bishi (short for bishonen) before at cons and on here at DA....so the moniker must be a term of endearment and I take it with grace and honour. LOL Well it's true. Can't complain when someone thinks me as an ordinary man, has achieved the anime worlds envisionment of a hot god-like guy! LOL!

lol yeah I would say it is a compliment indeed. I like my men feminine but not necessarily for there looks. I like the feminine part to be in other areas. The way they act or do certain things.
