Main 6 RingsFinally got some background character rings perfected! Trixie, Derpy, Big Mac, Spitfire, and DJ Pon3/Vinyl Scratch are made and ready to be worn!

I'm still working on getting Princess Luna and Celestia rings perfected and ready to go...I'm trying to figure out good placement on Luna's ring so it's not too bulky but wont break if the smaller circles are thin down toward the bottom of her cutie mark.

Well, I would consider Derpy and Vinyl Scratch to be background ponies, though, the others are side characters.

Well, I've already sold a size 11 and 12 ring (of the mane 6 versions) So I'm going to take a wild guess that they were for bronies (or perhaps woman with VERY large hands)
My husband wore a pinkie pie pin to work the other day (pinkie is his favorite). I should make him a pinkie ring and see if he'd wear it around
I personally wear the fluttershy one on most occasions. My daughters have the "failed" rings. I just reshape them very small for their tiny fingers. I catch them wearing them on every finger sometimes...or they "trade" them around for their favorite toys if the other has something they want.

Can trixie, derpy, macintosh, and spitfire really be considered backround ponies? They are all acknowledged in cannon. If anything, they are more secondary ponies then anything else

I guess I just consider anyone other than the mane 6 as "background" ponies
I think I'm going to do another set of background ponies still, like bon bon, cheerilee, doctor whooves, zecora, and soarin
