Description The pattern in the middle is a variation on the serpinsky's gasket triangle fractal. I created it using gcc with gd2 library.

The rules are for an n cornered shape: start in the middle of a blank picture. { choose a random corner, move halfway towards that corner, make the pixel you land on, slightly darker. } <- repeat 100,000,000 times.

For the background, credit must be given to giyvin for his:Latin law 1 by tinder(BLANKED). Image in the Stock > Objects category.

I added the surrounding text to give interest because the image reminded me of the various 'arcane' diagrams that one sees. Depending on the scale you look at the pattern, you see: a pentagon, 5 pointed star, gear shape. etc.

If anyone actually knows modern Italian, please send me corrections for the title, I made it up using an Italian dictionary.

correction: on first line of text in picture, read pentagram not pentagon!!
