This is still very much a work in progress... but I decided to post it anyway.*Edit* Let me clarify that - I won't be doing any more to this particular image you see here, but I'm going to continue developing the 3D assets and will eventually post the result of that continued development
The entire scene was made in Lightwave 3D, and touched up in Photoshop.
The figures are exported from DAZ Studio, although I made the clothes myself after searching high and low for an already-made parka and finding nothing suitable. I'll never be a tailor!

Great work, I love it...I would like to use it on a web page for a group in a game (computer) as a background texture (IE: banner) Would you consider this, It's not for a profit or anything just a Role-play group. how dose one go about getting permission and what cost. thank you for sharing your talent.

Thanks! The entire scene is pretty much standard polygon models. Most of the appearance of detail on the floor comes from the textures, which were pretty high res

Thanks - if I had any ability (or knowledge) about character animation, I would probably try and make a CG animated short. It's creating the human characters that is my downfall! (these were from Daz studio, although I made a kind of crude set of winter clothes for them)

Same here about modeling humans. To be honest I never tried harder enough... And my greatest goal is making a realistic portrait of actress Mila Kunis to send her as gift

I've never made a really serious attempt to model a human beyond just simple stick figures. Thank goodness for DAZ Studio!
A CG model of Mila Kunis would be great to see!

The junk on the ground is a bit hard to read, but it's actually a texture of industrial filth/gunge/tar. I guess volcanic isn't all that bad though, come to think of it. Mostly it's supposed to look like this place hasn't been kept up for years

I can see how it does - you'd be surprised to see the actual texture; it's a lot of trash and plastic bottles and junk! But I actually don't mind if it just looks like... whatever... detritus
