I love well-envisioned stone, such as this. Great photo overall.
I think the thing I like best about your photo is how you've brought out all the color in the stones. Contrasting orange with blue, you have captured this with perfect lighting; there is nothing too dark neither washed out. There's also primarily vertical and horizontal lines in the photo, which draws the viewer's eye up.
Vision – The main idea of the photo seems to be a very objective one.
Originality – It's a rare eye that can capture the movement of stone. The viewer gets an impression that aeons ago, this bedrock was once liquid which later solidified, cracked, and shifted with the ages.
Technique – Compositionally this piece is sound, with the great lines drawing the viewer's eye into the photo and upward. Focus is very crisp with some emphasis to the center of the photo; the foreground and background is very softly blurred, which gives the viewer an impression of 'looking closely' at the outstanding texture and structure of the stone.
Impact – Overall the scene is very abstract; there is a sense of serenity in that. With the vantage point being so low to the ground, the viewer is made to feel somewhat small, which is great as it brings one to marvel at the eternal nature of this most geological subject.
Cheers
