This is a collage of all of the live-action Wonder Woman adaptions, the good and the bad and the mediocre. 
Faithful adaption of Wonder Woman, featuring all of the important classic aspects of Wonder Woman, including the classic controversial themes that make a lot of males, conservatives, uncomfortable - fighting mankind's Nazi forces of hate and oppression, and to preserve American lady liberty and freedom of democracy for the rights of womankind, women's liberation, top row: Lynda Carter in The New Original Wonder Woman (1975), Lynda Carter in Wonder Woman (1976-1977) and Lynda Carter in The New Adventures of Wonder Woman (1977-1979).

Unfaithful adaptions: vain woman, Evel Knievel woman, Ally McBeal woman and Xena woman, bottom row: Ellie Wood Walker in Wonder Woman: Who's Afraid of Diana Prince? (1967), Cathy Lee Crosby in Wonder Woman (1974), Adrianne Palicki in Wonder Woman (2011) and Gal Gadot in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) (Gal Gadot is also in Wonder Woman (2017) and Justice League (2017)).

Luckily for us, the last adaptation aka the Wonder Woman movie by Patty Jenkins is very good.

So, I believe that the character will get some of the respect she deserves.
