A couple of false starts and she's back to square oneBut please do not get disheartened
Love forshadowed pain and then they became one
One ugly truth that calls out her name
Coerced by love and its many faces
It's many shades of grey in worn out places
A love that was broken before it had begun
At the top of her lungs she screamed, she sung
She screamed of unfairness and this aching pain
This one that would not go away, persisted to stay
It haunted her day and night
Leaving only this empty feeling, nothing else in sight
She looked around at her cluttered room
Her thoughts all around her, now seemed to loom
They made a distinct impression that something was wrong
That she had been cheating herself all along
Cheating herself out of a life unseen
Pulling herself apart, picking at the seams
She'd been stitched up many a time before
Now picking herself apart she lay broken on the floor.
